Mukulike Okutuuka ku Mazaalibwa

This is the greeting used by all Ugandans during the Christmas season to greet each other as they congratulate one another for yet another Christmas added to their age. And, when you look at age statistics in Uganda … median age is 15 and most do not live beyond 51 … it is an important greeting.

We need your help to make Christmas wonderful again this year for the children at the Mbiriizi School in Uganda, Africa. In the past you have generously donated for the Christmas gifts and it is my sincere hope that you can do the same this year. Last year we gave each child a blanket as that was their wish … they just wanted their own blanket.

This year each child will receive a Santa hat, candy, stickers, sun visor and sunglasses, sports balls, a candy cane, pencil and pencil sharpener, and an activity book. There are 1,002 children at the school of which 236 are orphans as a result of the AIDS pandemic. This will be the fourth year that we have put on a Christmas party for the children and the third year that we have been there to see the joy on their faces and to experience their happiness with their presents. Many of these children never had the joy of Christmas before Sylvia’s Children was formed.

Please help us make this another memorable year for these children. Every little bit helps. Thank you for having a kind, caring and giving heart. Click here to make donation. http://www.sylviaschildren.org/Donations/donation.html

Amazalibwa Agesanyu & N'Omwaka Omujaa Ogwemirembe that’s Merry Christmas in Lugandan!)
