Saving children, one child at a time

As the adopted grandmother to over 1,000 children at the Mbiriizi Advanced Primary and Day Care School, Sylvia Allen is going to make a difference in some children's lives and hopefully, give them enough education to have a better life than their ancestors.

For the last ten years we have made a difference in these children's lives... providing a well so they don't get sick, a library and books, additional classroom blocks, a nurse and health care services and the list goes on. Sylvia is in Minnesota this week helping refurbish a building that is very dear to her.

The building was built in 1904 and housed the Aitkin Opera House until just prior to World War II. Once restored, the building will feature and internet café, five retailers, two restaurants, and the Opera House space on the second floor, which will be a multi-purpose space for performing arts and special events. She will also share with us details on this project.
